The St Kilda Cycling Club Round 1 2019 kicked off at White Street on Sunday, November 10, 2019. They call it “The Home of BIG Sunday Racing” and oh boy, I now understand why! This would have to be the most attended club based racing in Melbourne, they even had a Fixed Gear grade. The  Women’s grade alone had to at least 40 – 50 racers which was great to see!

The course had a new start/finish line next to the Mazda dealership along Johnson Street. It was a fairly flat course which included 4 fast left hand corners. It was really well organised and thanks to the volunteers for helping out thru the morning. It was an early start at 7:30am but it was a cracking morning of racing!

Sadly though, SKCC will not be using White Street from 2020 onwards and we are down to the club’s final 5 crits including the MEGA Shimano Supercrit. So for the final set of crits, I encourage everyone to come along and cheer on your mates, or just CHEER! Had an awesome time taking photos of everyone and one of the security volunteers even offered me a yoga mat for next weekend. He had never seen anyone lay down on grass, dirt and concrete that much just to take photos. 😀

NOTE: I’m aware that if you are viewing the photos thru your mobile phone, when you select a photo (the lightbox pops up) and then try to hold it down to save/download on your phone, nothing happens. This is a known issue and I’m coming up with a workaround. For now, if there is a photo you want, please view the site on a laptop and download it that way (eg. right click, save).

I have purposely included a watermark on the images from a creative rights perspective, however, if you are one of the individuals that raced or one of the represented teams/clubs and would like a HI-RES copy of your own images without the watermark, then please email me directly or DM me on Instagram. I'm more than happy to provide these to you. I take photos as a hobby, I love it and its a bit of a passion of mine for the past 20 years.

HOWEVER, I also do work and have a young family, so your request may not be addressed immediately, or may be forgotten all together.

My intention is not to make money off the images, and if I do decide to charge for the photos, it is likely to be all donated to a charity (eg. a blood cancer foundation, love you mum). Feel free to also use the photos as they are, all that I ask is that you credit the photographer. It's just the polite thing to do!
